GENTLEMAN BASTARD SERIES

Gentleman Bastard Series  by Scott Lynch
Genre: Fantasy
My rating: ★★★★★

Scott Lynch's Gentleman Bastard series is absolutely one of my favorite book series of all time. I absolutely love the story, the characters, and the language. The Lies of Locke Lamora was Scott

Lynch's debut novel and I appreciate his creativity with the profanities in this book. The series is just absolutely hilarious meanwhile being action packed, and emotional.

The Gentleman Bastard series is about a group of orphans who are taken under their masters wing and taught how to act and pull off crazy heists. The group becomes a close family and the bickering back and fourth is just hilarious.

The trio of the series are Locke Lamora, Sabatha, and Jean Tannen. Locke is your main character, a smart ass little orphan who grows up to be a scrawny thief  that works closely with Jean. Jean Tannen is the big bad thief, the muscles of the two. Sabatha is the older female of the group who Locke falls in love with.

"We have a new problem, fresh from the oven and hot as hell." This quote explains the books so well! The story is about thieves so of course they are going to encounter problems. The situations they get themselves in are hilarious, crazy, and sometimes tragic. I love the schemes they come up with and the effort put into putting themselves into a character. When a problem comes up they may have a bit of bad luck and not everything goes their way which is refreshing. I mean, I would love for them to be all rainbow and butterflies but that is boring!

I cannot recommend this series enough. If you don't mind a lot of cursing, and sometimes disgusting profanity like "Eat the peas from my shit" or talk of "Trouser gravy" then check out this series. You will laugh, cringe, cry, and swoon.

To us - richer and cleverer than everyone else!

THE LAST WISH

The Last Wish (The Witcher)  by Andrzej Sapkowski Genre: Fantasy My rating: ★★★★☆ Synopsis Geralt of Rivia is a Witcher. A cunning sorcerer. A merciless assassin. And a cold-blooded killer. His sole purpose: to destroy the monsters that plague the world. But not everything monstrous-looking is evil, and not everything fair is good... and in every fairy tale there is a grain of truth. I can't believe I waited so long to read this book. It has been 3 years since the video game, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, was released and I loved it so much. If you had not played the game I highly recommend it. The story line is great and the from what I remember the graphics were great. With that being said lets get into what I thought about the book. The book starts off just the same as the opening scene in Wild Hunt. I was immediately submerged into the world that I knew well from the video game. The book wastes no time, in comparison to the video game, a
